3 is TOO YOUNG for him to be in any sort of school, away from your protection.

In the UK, he can start playschool at age 2 1/2, but you will have to pay until he’s 3.

Yourself being a mother is the best judge to decide about this, because all the children have their distinct identities.

At that age it’s pretty much up to you, although a common practice is to let them attend a nursery school program a couple of days a week.
At three, children are often very happy to just spend their days with their mother, talking about everything around them. Some children may be a little extra mature, in which case they may start to ask to go to school and be with other children.
I suppose, it would make sense that he start preschool next September, when he is on his way to being four.

He can legally start in the term that he turns 3. So because he is a March birthday it depends when Easter is this year, I can’t remember off the top of my head. But if his birthday falls before Easter he can start in Jan, and if it falls after Easter he can start when they go back after the Easter break.

You can ring the nursery or school that you would like him to go to, get his name put down and they will tell you when the funding will start - it will either be after Easter or September. My daughter’s birthday is in March and she started after Easter, my daughters birthday who is in July started in September

My son is 3 on the 30th of March, and I asked my local nursery when he’d be most likely to start. This year they’ve got a smaller class so I’ve been told he will most likely get in after the Easter holidays. If not, he will start in August 2009. The nursery is part of the school, so I will not need to pay anything towards this.
