my grand daughter is going to nursery school. What lunch meal should I prepare for her instead of hotdogs.?
my daughter likes turkey sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches (with or without jelly, depends on her mood), blocks of cheese (chedder, havarti, provolone, pepper jack, jarlsberg), lunchmeat, salami,
apples, oranges, broccoli, tomatoes (cut up in a tuperware with a spoon), carrot, celery, (with a little thing of dip. sometimes when i have fast food, i stock up on sides of ranch dressing so she doesn't lose the tupperware)
fruit snacks, sesame sticks, wheat thins, rosemary triscuits, pirates booty (it's an all natural cheese puffed corn), granola bars
i know there's more. i just try to give her a variety so she doesn't get sick of it. she eats pretty well and likes a lot, so it's easy for me. good luck!

You could send her with ham and block cheese on whole grain bread with fruit and some of those natural chips made out of veggies with chocolate soy milk or juice box or bottled water for a drink.
there's lots of options! but please stay away from hot dogs…those are so completely horrible as far as sodium, saturated fat, and calories…awful things!

Anything!!!
Seriously, try chicken salad or tuna salad. Making some homemade buns by taking a roll of bread dough or pizza dough (like in a tube where you get the canned biscuits and stuff). Divide into about 6-10 portions, then put whatever you think she'll like…a little cooked chicken, cheese, some vegetables she likes, for example, in the center and then seal it off and cut a small slit in the top. Bake in a 400 degree oven about 10-15 minutes, or until brown and raised a little. You can let these sit and rise after you fill them before they bake if you like; and if you want a finish, try a little egg whipped up with some water and brushed on before you bake them.
These little pockets can be made by you and your granddaughter and you can make enough for several lunches…you might try a variety of fillings…even cheese and fruit.

Something familiar to her… do you make her PB&J sammies or ham/turkey sammies? If so, send those, and cut them however you usually cut them (in an X, diagonally, whatever).
Grapes, yogurt (don't forget a plastic spoon), pretzel sticks, raisins, banana, Cheerios or Crispix (finger food), etc. Don't forget milk in a thermos.
