Will playing golf with long sleeves prevent my arms from getting sunburned? Since I already have dark spots in my arms due to being under the sun for four hours playing golf, I recently tried using long sleeves instead off putting sunblock lotion. I noticed though after the game that my arms got even darker compared to when using my usual sun block. Does cloth prevent skin damage from the sun or I am better off using sunblock.
Usually long sleeves should protect you completely, but I can't say for sure. I guess it depends on the thickness and type of cloth you use.
It is very easy to get sun poisoning and skin cancer from a sunburn , so I would use both sunblock and a long sleeve shirt. References :
