what qualifications do i need to become a nursery school teacher?

I am wanting to get into nursery teaching or classroom assistant but need to know how and what i need to achieve this

Good for you. The times they are changing….it used to be if you had your HS Diploma you were fine, then you had to get your 20hrs and CPR, then came CDA(I took the classes where you learned cool things), now a lot of places require you have an AA Degree or higher, some places will still accept CDA’s and many will require no less than that but pay better for better credentials.
Check at some of the local Nursery Schools for what they want. You can go to a local Vo-Tech school for your CDA(it’s not free, but low cost) and expect to spend at least 4 yrs(some places will let you work while you are earning your credentials.
Good Luck

What is the minimum age of toddler to go to nursery school in dubai?

My baby is 18 months old. I want to know what’s the minimum age required for putting him to nursery so that i can prepare my baby’s schedule that way!

Thanks!

Although I don’t have any children in nursery, I’m not aware of any age limit per se. The nurseries I do see have young toddlers, so you might just want to call and visit some of the nurseries near your home. Now is a great time to start to visit, even if you choose not to put him in right away.

This way you can find the best school for him, not just any school who will take him.

Cheers!

Will i get in trouble if i remove my son from school nursery?

I want to take my son out of his preschool nursery so we can enjoy the summer months together before he has to go to school in september. He will be 5 then and school will be compulsory. Can the school give me any grief for taking him out early? (UK)

Providing the year he goes to school is his first reception year, then it is fine.
You may find the practitioners try & persuade you to keep him there, or they may offer shorter hours, mainly just to keep him in that routine of doing work & socialising with other children.
If you do take him out early, I suggest you still take him to some form of club or even a play area so he continues to develop & maintain his social skills with other children and adults.

What ages are children when they start school nursery?

My son is 18 months old, will be 2 in May and i have been told to put his name down for a school nursery. I have also been told that nurseries have 2 admissions depending on the age of the child. Will it be the September after he is 3 when he starts nursery ? Im sorry if this is confusing anyone - its confusing me and i wrote it! :) x

i think he will start the september after he is 3, i put my sons name down when he was one and half i recently heard back from them (hes now 2 and half) and he will be starting the sep after his 3rd birthday (his birthday is also in may so imagen it will be the same :) x

at what age do children go to nursery school and how much does it cost?

Hi

we have a 8 months old girl and wanted to know what the options are that someone takes care of the child during the day, so that the mother can go to her work. From what age can children go to nursery school and how much does a cheap one cost per month? Thanks

What is the best nursery school in London?

I have a four month old son whom I will put into nursery at 1 year old. I am willing to move to any area where there are good nurseries and schools, as my living arrangements are very temporary at the moment.

I’m a single mum so want to try to give my son the best that I can.

Thanks!

The very best nursery for Your child,
may well not
be the very best nursery for Another child.

So…………..

Sit down and draw up a list of what
(for you as a parent)
is important for a nursery/ school to be providing.

Once that’s done
( and honestly not until that’s done)
then you can start looking.

One other way is to ask yourself what sort of a family you and your son are going to be?
Who are you going to be spending time with and hanging out with?
What sort of activities are You going to able to provide for your son?
And what sort of activities would you be looking for a nursery or school to be able to help provide for you?

I hope this helps
…..and I hope you manage to find the very best place for your unique child.

Work experience in a nursery or infant school?

Hey,

I’m 14 and planning my work experience. I definitely want to do it in a nursery, an infant school or possibly a junior school, as all I want to do with my life is something to do with children. I was just wondering, really, if anyone has done work experience in a nursery/school and would tell me how it went, give me some tips etc?

Thanks a lot x

I did mine a month ago.

Tip 1: BE VERY VERY PATIENT INDEED!
Tip 2: Do muck about with paints
Tip 3: Do say NO when it needs to be said
Tip 4: Be ridiculously kind
Tip 5: Don’t have favourites
Tip 6: Do be prepared to do a lot of painting, putting stuff up on walls and things
Tip 7: Avoid if there is a trip outside with the kids. The kids treat you like a coat hanger.
Tip 8: If a child comes to you saying they ‘injured’ themselves. Send them to the office and say that there is nothing YOU can do about it.
Tip 9: Enjoy, and be smiley, even when the other colleague teachers never socialise with you. Be prepared to each lunch alone unless you want to be with the kids.
Tip 10: Don’t do it and then say it sucked.

As you can notice from the above, my work experience sucked but hey, I do miss the kids!
PS. Last day is going to be sad…be prepared!
